Ideal Women Development Center (IWDC)
Ideal Women Development Centre (IWDC), previously known as Adarsha Nari Club, brings together a group of highly committed, enthusiastic and motivated social workers, striving to improve the status of women in Nepal. The organisation was born out of a desire to challenge conservative and traditional, social and cultural constraints which are preventing women and children from living a life where basic rights and needs are fulfilled.
IWDC is concerned primarily with social development, in a society where obstacles and challenges include prostitution, domestic violence, trafficking of women and girls, dowry practices, unsafe abortion, and HIV/AIDS education and control. Regarding these issues, IWDC is working as a pressure group at the local level.

APPROACH
|
| IWDC will work with women and disadvantaged rural people to facilitate a process of empowerment which will give them the skills and knowledge necessary to identify and solve local problems. IWDC will work with the community in various sectorial activities to improve the social and economical conditions and hence quality of life for the target people. | To generate and inspire self-employment leading to self-dependence, where the diversity of internal resources and potentials possessed by women are fully mobilised and utilised. For this, we carry out so many activities at the local as well as national level with the objective to bring out the potential of the women of the Nepalese society at the most. | Direct consultation with the target community and members, together with community participation at the decision, implementation and evaluation stages, is essential in all activities conducted by IWDC. This is the principal approach of our organisation that helps us to achieve the goals and objectives of Ideal Women Development Centre, Chitwan. |
